MIND – empowering people!

As we all know job hunting can be a stressful time not just for students but for everyone involved. As such, I would like to provide some useful tips to decrease any anxiety around this:


- Planning – creating an action plan can make you feel more in control of the process

- Organisation – record who you contacted and dates so that you can keep track of your progress

- Preparation – understand what is expected of you

- Research – investigate your options and find what suits you

- Network – build your contacts and reach out for recommendations

- Get support – careers service, parents, teachers, use the connections you have around you


You can be under a lot of pressure to juggle a number of priorities but stick to your plan and ask for help when you need it.


MIND provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem so if the pressure is getting too much you can reach out to a number of different charities for assistance.


Be positive and if you are applying to courses or companies ask for feedback at each stage so that

you can learn from the process.
